That obscure piece of info, and many, many others, came to light late last year in a revealing data dump of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's correspondence.

An enterprising data journalist found an innovative way to get his hands on an open-government bonanza: e-mail and text messages to and from Mayor Lightfoot spanning the years 2019 to 2021.

Below, find a link to almost 150 documents, many of which contain threads between Lightfoot and correspondents both within and outside of city government.
